About AlterMoves
AlterMoves is dedicated to helping people transform how they move, feel, and live through the Feldenkrais Method. Founded on the belief that everyone deserves to move with comfort and joy, we offer a range of services from individual sessions to group classes, workshops, and online courses.

Our Practitioner
Our lead practitioner, Emma Alter, is a Guild-certified Feldenkrais teacher with a professional background in classical music. With membership in the UK Feldenkrais Guild, full professional insurance, and experience serving on the Guild committee and the European Accreditation Board, you are in expert hands.
Born with a congenital leg condition and spending childhood navigating hospitals and wheelchairs, Emma discovered the Feldenkrais Method as a path to move beyond medical predictions of permanent disability. Today, the result speaks for itself — moving better than many able-bodied individuals, including dancing and running freely.
This personal journey infuses every session with deep empathy, understanding, and the unwavering belief that improvement is always possible. The approach combines kindness, intelligence, positivity, and patience, meeting each client exactly where they are.
Our Approach
We believe that thought, movement, emotion, and muscular tension are deeply intertwined. You cannot have a strong thought without it affecting your body, and you cannot change how you move without it affecting how you think and feel.
This understanding guides everything we do. Rather than imposing solutions, we create the conditions for your nervous system to discover better options on its own. The result is change that feels natural, lasting, and authentically yours.
